Church Works and Bedford Works
Later vases
Since most vases seem to be on individual shapes it seems simplest to gather them all on one page, with the following exceptions.
For earlier vases see the William Ridgway Vase page.
For 'India Jars' see the 'India Jars' page.
For Dolphin handled Moon Flasks see the Moon Flask page.
For Jasperware vases see the Jasperware & Mosaic Vase page.

For further examples of this print set see here and here.
The fact that this is totally unmarked leads me to think it belongs to the Ridgway and Abington or E J Ridgway periods. The shape is reminiscent of the 'Prussian' table shape. The print is the same on all four sides.
The vase is 98mm tall and 114mm broad. Earthenware.
The number is probably a tally mark.

Pattern 4317?
For other wares with the same print see the 'Noma' print page.
The pot-pourri is 216mm tall. Earthenware.
The pattern number clearly reads 2617, but that number relates to a 'Japanica' print design. The number is an error. The painter was probably confused between 2617 and 4317 which is the 'Noma' pattern that most closely matches the decoration of this pot-pourri. This is not the first numbering error I have seen in the Ridgway factories.

The cache pot is 178mm tall and 178mm in diameter. Ebony or jet ware.
Bad handwriting is with us in every age. Thankfully we have a teapot in this pattern to guide us to 3/1723.

Pattern 3/3920
The goblet vase is 270mm tall, 127mm base diameter, and 100mm top diameter. Ebony or jet ware.
The significance of the impressed marks is uncertain. The small cross is probably a moulder's tally mark.

There is no pattern number on this piece but it can be inferred from the above teapot and jug since the decoration is identical.
The vase. Ebony ware.
"EUTERPE" was one of the Nine Muses presiding over music, and later over lyric poetry. Why her name is on this vase is something of a puzzle. Usually a printed name indicates the name of the print, but any name further removed from the oriental subject of the print I cannot imagine. Also it does not appear on any of the other pieces with this pattern that I have seen. It could possibly be the name of the vase shape, though that is usually impressed. Only further examples will confirm the true meaning, and so far they have not been forthcoming.
I have no idea what these symbols represent. At least one of them is probably a tally mark.

Pattern i/1215
The vase is 190mm tall and 78mm diameter at base. Earthenware.
Unusually the i/ prefix to the number is written as a script capital "I" rather than as a script lower case "i".
The impressed "RIDGWAYS" mark is not often seen.
The impressed date code is partially obscured but appears to read "2?/80" for February? 1880.
