Note the tiny figure 7 close to the footrim on the underside. These numerals are common on early Cauldon Place printed pieces and are probably a form of tally mark.

Pattern 885

The gravy boat stand? is 220mm long and 159mm wide. Bone china.

I will admit to uncertainty as to what exactly this is. It is certainly a stand for something but too small for a tureen or fruit basket. There are rub marks on the top surface indicating that whatever stood on it had four feet. The most likely item is a gravy boat, but if anyone knows better I would be grateful for the information.

The soup plate is 246mm in diameter. Bone china.

This plate is not in the best of states, but it serves as an example of the pattern.
