The dessert plate is 230mm in diameter. Blue Stone body.
The arms of the Worshipful Company of Salters: Blazon: Per chevron azure and gules, three covered salts argent, garnished or; Crest: On a wreath of the colours, a cubit arm erect, issuing from clouds all proper, holding a covered salt argent, garnished or; Supporters: Two otters sable, bezanty, ducally gorged and chained or; Motto: Sal Sapit Omnia (Salt Savours All).
Du Croz was a London retailer through whom the Salters must have ordered the service.

The soup tureen is 406mm long across handles, 254mm wide, and 305mm tall. Blue Stone body.
The meat dish is 381mm long and 317mm wide. Blue Stone body.
There is considerable wear on the centre gilding.
The cream combed back is typical of early Hicks & Meigh meat dishes.
